Dawn is a beautiful unicorn from Ponyville. She worked in Ponyville schoolteacher and had taught young fillies and colts before her children were born. One day, she and some of her friends traveled to Cloudsdale to see a Young Flyer's Competition. It was that fateful day, Dawn would meet a handsome stallion named Eclipse and the two would fall in love afterwards. They started dating for a few months then they wed and she moved to Cloudsdale with her husband, who taught her with magic how to walk on clouds like Pegsusi do. She continues to work as a schoolteacher at a local school close to her house.

Soon after they wed, Dawn became pregnant. Eclipse retired from being Princess Celestia's royal guard and Dawn delivered her fist child, Cobalt. Two years later she delivered another child, Storm. Dawn is a kind mother to her children and would sometimes give them wise words. Like her husband, Dawn is proud to have brave children.
